This strategic initiative, if accepted, could serve as a model for rural agricultural management across India.
The high-level meeting at Krishi Bhawan also witnessed the presence of key officials including Minister of State Bhagirath Chaudhary, Agriculture Secretary Devesh Chaturvedi, Rural Development Secretary Shailesh Singh, and ICAR DG Dr. M.L. Jat. Discussions covered a broad spectrum—from irrigation to inter-state agri trade.
₹4,384 Crore Released to Rajasthan Under MGNREGA
Union Minister Chouhan confirmed that the Centre has already transferred ₹4,384 crore to Rajasthan in the current financial year under MGNREGA. This includes ₹3,286 crore for labour wages, ₹944 crore under material components, and ₹154 crore towards administrative costs.
CM Sharma thanked the minister, stating the funds will provide vital rural employment support, especially during the monsoon season when agri-related work peaks.
Swift PMAY-G Approvals After Survey Verification
Discussing rural housing, Minister Chouhan lauded Rajasthan’s performance under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin. He assured that after ongoing survey verification, approval for additional 7.46 lakh homes—including those under the PM-Janman scheme—will be fast-tracked.

Agricultural interventions were also key talking points. The progress of the “Per Drop More Crop” initiative, the construction of water harvesting diggies (ponds), and field fencing schemes were reviewed. Jaipur’s Bassi region was highlighted for its promising agricultural growth.
Moong, Castor Oil, and Trade Boost in Focus
The two leaders discussed the notification of Rajasthan’s improved moong varieties and enhancing the branding and market promotion of the state’s renowned castor oil. Interstate trade cooperation was another major agenda.
CM Sharma noted that Rajasthan has witnessed a favourable monsoon this year, which is likely to lead to a robust harvest.
