China Unveils Its First Fully Autonomous Electric Tractor, the “Honghu T70”
03 June 2025, New Delhi: China has introduced its first fully autonomous electric tractor, the “Honghu T70,” marking a major milestone in the country’s push toward smart and sustainable agriculture.
The Honghu T70 is powered by a lithium battery and equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor and an intelligent control system. It can independently carry out various farming operations by following pre-set routes while collecting real-time data on soil conditions, crop health, and other agronomic factors for further analysis.
Featuring a dual-motor configuration—one for vehicle propulsion and another for operating farming implements—the tractor delivers precision accuracy within ±2.5 cm. It can function autonomously for up to six hours on a single charge.
The tractor is already in operation in Hebei province and other agricultural regions, where it is helping improve the efficiency and quality of farm work. It is capable of handling the entire farming cycle, including plowing, sowing, crop care, and harvesting.
