Bayer Crop Science Canada Launches Convintro® Corn 12 Herbicide – The First Group 12 Available To Combat Multi-Resistant Weeds In Eastern Canada
19 December 2025, Calgary: Bayer Crop Science Canada has announced the registration of Convintro® Corn 12 herbicide for corn growers in Eastern Canada. This new herbicide offers Eastern Canadian growers a brand new mode of action – the only Group 12 herbicide registered for use in corn.
“With the registration of Convintro® Corn 12, Bayer will offer Canadian growers a truly unique herbicide solution,” says Greg Good, Marketing Portfolio Lead for Crop Protection East. “With it featuring an entirely new herbicide Group (Group 12), Convintro® Corn 12 was specifically designed with farmers in mind. I’m proud that Canadian growers can be confident in the weed control they will be getting with Convintro® Corn 12, as it has several different modes of action that provide one-pass, effective, residual broad-spectrum weed control,” he says.
Multi-resistant weeds, including waterhemp and the newly found palmer amaranth, are becoming more widespread issues for growers and are becoming more prevalent in Eastern Canada. “It’s important for us to not only meet the challenges farmers are facing today but also get ahead of them. Convintro® Corn 12 is a phenomenal option for controlling problem species,” says Good.
While it’s critical to protect crops against more common weeds, newer issues, including palmer amaranth, are rising. With time being so valuable out in the field, Convintro® Corn 12 makes it simple for growers to tackle these issues effectively with it being a pre-emergent, one-pass product. “I’m excited for Canadian corn growers to see the difference Convintro® Corn 12 will make for their crops next growing season,” Good says.
Convintro® Corn 12 will be available for purchase in Eastern Canada for the 2026 growing season.
