Shandong Kangqiao Plans 7,000-Tonne Pesticide TC Plant for Pyraclostrobin, Bentioflumin and Spiromesifen
28 January 2026, Beijing: Shandong Kangqiao Bio-technology Co., Ltd. has placed details of a proposed pesticide technical manufacturing project in the public domain through a government consultation platform in China. The project outlines a planned annual production capacity of 7,000 tonnes.
As per the disclosure, the company intends to develop three new production workshops at the Boxing Chemical Industrial Park in Binzhou, Shandong Province. The facility is designed to house five production units for multiple crop protection active ingredients. The proposed capacities include 5,000 tonnes per year of pyraclostrobin, along with 500 tonnes each of spiromesifen, spirodiclofen, bentioflumin and thifluzamide.
Bentioflumin is an acaricide belonging to the trifluoroethyl thioether chemical class and was developed by Shandong Kangqiao Biotechnology in 2020. Products based on this structure are used for the control of herbivorous mite species such as Panonychus citri, Tetranychus cinnabarinus and Tetranychus urticae at various developmental stages.
Spiromesifen, originally introduced by Bayer, is characterised by a distinct mode of action and has been adopted in several international markets. Following the expiry of key patents in recent years, Chinese crop protection manufacturers have been able to undertake local synthesis, formulation and product registration, supporting the availability of domestically produced alternatives.
