Bayer Launches Felujit: A Next-Generation Fungicide to Combat Sheath Blight in Paddy in India
14 July 2025, New Delhi: Bayer has introduced Felujit, a next-generation fungicide engineered to protect all parts of the rice plant against sheath blight—one of the most persistent and yield-threatening diseases in paddy cultivation. The product will be rolled out across major rice-producing states in India starting this month, the company announced in an official statement.
Felujit features a unique formulation that combines Penflufen and Tebuconazole, offering a dual mode of action to suppress sheath blight caused by Rhizoctonia solani, a soil-borne pathogen. Bayer stated that the product not only prevents the onset of the disease but also inhibits its spread throughout the plant body, helping farmers achieve healthier crops and improved yield quality.
According to the company, a single application of Felujit delivers long-lasting protection, with efficacy levels that are more than twice that of current market benchmarks. This helps reduce the frequency of fungicide use, cutting down on both time and labor expenses for farmers.

Bayer emphasized that Felujit’s dual-action chemistry makes it a reliable and effective tool for tackling sheath blight, a disease that can significantly impact rice yields if left unchecked.
The product will be available in two pack sizes — 320 ml and 1 litre — offering flexibility and convenience to farmers based on their field requirements. With Felujit, Bayer continues to strengthen its portfolio of crop protection solutions, aiming to support rice farmers in sustaining productivity while addressing the growing demands of global food systems.
