Atomgrid Opens Bengaluru R&D Centre for Agrochemicals
21 April 2026, Bengaluru: Atomgrid has opened a research and development centre in the KIADB Industrial Area, Jigani, Bengaluru, to expand its specialty chemicals business focused on agrochemicals.
The company said the new facility will support process development, proprietary formulations, and product commercialisation for global markets as supply chains diversify and buyers seek alternatives to China.
Atomgrid said many Indian specialty chemical companies remain focused on manufacturing, while its model has prioritised downstream capabilities such as global registrations, distribution, and customer relationships before integrating into proprietary molecules and formulations.
Siddharth Gupta, Co-Founder of Atomgrid, said the company is focused on developing proprietary processes for active ingredients and patented formulations for international markets, supported by distribution in more than 10 countries and export-led revenues.
The Bengaluru centre currently has 15 scientists and researchers, with plans to increase the team to 25 over the next 12 months. The facility’s work will cover route scouting, process development, and technology transfer for commercial manufacturing.
The company said its research focus includes high-purity active ingredients and formulations designed to meet regulated and non-regulated market requirements.
Dr. Prabhu Dharmalingam, Director – Research & Development, said the centre aims to bridge laboratory innovation with large-scale manufacturing through process systems and quality infrastructure.
Atomgrid said the facility will also support its global registration programme, with filings underway in more than 10 countries. Over the next five years, the company plans to build an intellectual property portfolio through patents and proprietary processes.
The launch follows Atomgrid’s $7 million Pre-Series A funding round, which the company said will be used to strengthen its international presence and R&D capabilities.
Atomgrid, operated by Truuchem Technologies Pvt. Ltd., works across the agrochemical value chain, from active ingredients to formulations, with manufacturing operations in India and commercial activities in multiple international markets.
