Fendt and Massey Ferguson Debut New Tractors and Planters at 2026 Farm Progress Show

03 September 2026, Iowa: AGCO used the 2026 Farm Progress Show in Boone, Iowa, to launch a wave of new tractors and planters under its Fendt and Massey Ferguson brands, signaling the company’s bet that North America will anchor its next generation of global farm equipment even as the broader agricultural machinery market works through a multi-year sales downturn.

At a press conference on September 2, described by AGCO as Fendt’s first global product launch held in the United States, the company introduced the Fendt 1100 Vario MT Gen2 track tractor, which it calls its most powerful tractor to date. The machine features a reinforced VarioDrive transmission, a new SmartRide suspension system and the FendtONE cab operating interface. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2027, and the tractor carries Fendt’s Gold Star warranty, covering three years or 3,000 hours.

Alongside the tractor, AGCO unveiled the Fendt Momentum, an 80-foot, 32-row planter built for 30-inch row spacing. It carries a 130-bushel seed tank and a 1,000-gallon fertilizer tank, with a five-section toolbar designed to contour to field terrain. AGCO is taking limited orders this fall, with deliveries planned for spring 2027. The company also introduced the Fendt 300 Vario Gen5 line, five tractor models ranging from 113 to 152 horsepower, including a new 310 Vario model, plus new front-loader options.

A day earlier, on September 1, AGCO’s Massey Ferguson brand introduced its own N-Series split-row and narrow-row planter, offered in six configurations spanning 23 to 24 rows depending on spacing. The planter comes with twin 45-bushel seed tanks, capacity for up to 500 gallons of liquid fertilizer, and factory-installed Precision Planting technology, including the 20|20 Gen3 monitor, vSet2 seed metering and vDrive electric drives.

Stefan Caspari, AGCO’s Senior Vice President for Customer Success and North American Ag, said hosting the company’s first global tractor launch in the United States reflects the scale of investment AGCO and Fendt are putting into the region. Jason Lee, Fendt North America’s Senior Marketing Manager for Planters, said large-scale growers need equipment that covers more acres in tighter planting windows without giving up precision. Forrest Francis, Massey Ferguson North America’s Tactical Marketing Manager for Planters, said farmers are looking for proven technology without unnecessary complexity.
