Agrosem Becomes an Importer of METOS Weather Stations in Ukraine
08 April 2026, Kyiv: Agrosem, one of Ukraine’s leading agricultural distributors, has become an importer of METOS® by Pessl Instruments (METOS) weather stations in Ukraine, strengthening its smart solutions portfolio for the agricultural sector and expanding Ukrainian farmers’ access to advanced digital field management tools.
METOS is a line of high-precision in-field weather stations developed by the international manufacturer Pessl Instruments, which has been creating intelligent agricultural technologies for more than 40 years and operates in 85 countries worldwide. Founded in 1984, the company is recognized as one of the global leaders in hardware and software solutions for precision farming.
The METOS portfolio of solar-powered wireless weather stations provides agricultural producers with critical data on air and soil temperature, precipitation, leaf wetness, wind speed, soil moisture, and the risks of disease and pest development, while also helping forecast optimal “windows” for field operations.
The system is integrated with the digital FieldClimate platform, launched in 2005 as one of the world’s first web-based platforms for collecting and visualizing agrometeorological data. Today, more than 80,000 METOS in-field weather stations are operating worldwide.
Why this partnership?
For Agrosem, this partnership is a logical continuation of its precision agriculture strategy. The company began installing METOS weather stations in Ukrainian fields back in 2018, building strong practical expertise in implementing weather-based decision-making solutions for farms of various sizes.
“We are seeing rapidly growing demand for data-driven solutions in agriculture. Farmers can no longer rely on average regional weather indicators – they need hyperlocal data directly from a specific field. This is exactly what METOS weather stations provide: the ability to make decisions based on actual field conditions, reduce risks, and optimize costs,”Agrosem representative
“In today’s agriculture, especially under the challenging conditions Ukrainian farmers are facing, access to precise, field-level data in no longer optional, it is becoming fundamental to farming itself. Weather stations have become the backbone of modern crop management. Without accurate, real-time insights into microclimate conditions, farmers cannot effectively operate their farms. With METOS, we enable them to make informed, timely decisions, helping them reduce risks, optimize inputs, and protect their yield. We are excited to collaborate with Agrosem, as it helps us bring this value closer to Ukrainian farmers, ensuring they have the tools, local support, and expertise needed to farm efficiently,”Gottfried Pessl, CEO & Founder, Pessl Instruments GmbH
The partnership opens new opportunities for Agrosem to scale the technology across Ukraine, strengthen service support, and provide farmers with faster access to equipment, software, and implementation expertise.
Against the backdrop of climate volatility, limited resources, and the growing need to improve production efficiency, such solutions are becoming an increasingly important tool for agribusiness. With access to local weather data, farmers can more accurately plan spraying operations, monitor disease risks, manage irrigation, and minimize crop losses.
