Dhanuka Agritech Launches New Herbicide Tembotrax for Maize and Sugarcane
16 October 2026, New Delhi: Dhanuka Agritech Limited has introduced Tembotrax, an early post-emergence herbicide containing Tembotrione 34.4% SC, for weed management in maize and sugarcane cultivation across key agricultural regions of India.
Tembotrax is a systemic herbicide that inhibits the enzyme 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD), disrupting carotenoid biosynthesis in susceptible weeds. This leads to visible bleaching symptoms and helps control weeds while maintaining crop selectivity when used as recommended.
The product is designed to control both narrow-leaf and broadleaf weeds through a single spray application, helping farmers manage early-season weed competition, which can affect crop establishment, growth and yield potential.
Commenting on the launch, Rahul Dhanuka, Managing Director of Dhanuka Agritech Limited, said early-stage weed competition remains a significant challenge in maize and sugarcane cultivation, with implications for crop growth and farm productivity. He added that Tembotrax is intended to help farmers manage weeds during critical early growth stages and protect crop yield potential.
The launch marks Dhanuka Agritech’s fourth major product introduction this season, following recent launches in fungicides and efficacy enhancers. The company’s latest introductions reflect the breadth of its crop protection portfolio and its focus on developing solutions for the changing needs of Indian agriculture.
