Escorts Kubota Celebrates 30 Years of Farmtrac With New 6055 Classic ‘Dark Edition’ and PROMAXX 2.0 Range

New Farmtrac offerings expand the portfolio across the 47–55 HP categories, with 2WD and 4WD options

05 September 2026, Faridabad: Escorts Kubota has marked three decades of its Farmtrac tractor brand in India with the launch of the 6055 Classic ‘Dark Edition’ and the expanded PROMAXX 2.0 range.

The Farmtrac 6055 Classic ‘Dark Edition’ is the first all-black tractor in the brand’s history. The 55 HP category tractor will be available in both two-wheel drive (2WD) and four-wheel drive (4WD) variants.

The company has also expanded its PROMAXX portfolio with two new models, the 47 HT PROMAXX and 50 PROMAXX both offered in 2WD and 4WD configurations.

Escorts Kubota operates three tractor brands in India: Kubota, Farmtrac and Powertrac, serving the premium, entry-premium and value segments respectively. Farmtrac was launched in India in 1995 and currently offers tractors ranging from 26 HP to 60 HP.

Farmtrac 6055 Classic ‘Dark Edition’

The Farmtrac 6055 Classic ‘Dark Edition’ is powered by a four-cylinder, 3,682 cc engine generating maximum torque of 247 Nm. The tractor features a 2,500 kg heavy-duty hydraulic lift, LED lighting and a heat shield, and is designed for demanding agricultural applications and larger landholdings.

The tractor is compatible with a range of implements, including super seeders, laser levellers, reversible mould board ploughs, rotavators and harrows, in addition to heavy-haulage applications.

According to Escorts Kubota, the model has been developed for progressive farmers seeking higher productivity, durability and versatility across applications.

PROMAXX 2.0 expands to 50 HP

The PROMAXX 2.0 range introduces the 47 HT PROMAXX (47 HP) and 50 PROMAXX (50 HP category) models. Both tractors are powered by Farmtrac’s 3,514 cc HT (High Torque) engine, which delivers up to 230 Nm of torque.

The models feature a 12 forward and 3 reverse gearbox, with a creeper-speed option and a spacious flat platform aimed at improving operator comfort.

The availability of 4WD variants is intended to support farmers undertaking more demanding applications, while the higher-torque engine is designed to provide improved performance across a range of field operations.

Commenting on the launches, Nikhil Nanda, Chairman and Managing Director of Escorts Kubota, said the new products reflect the company’s focus on application-led portfolio expansion.

“Farmtrac has completed three decades in India, and the brand continues to anchor our position across key horsepower categories. Each such introduction is a deliberate step towards our ambition of a stronger market position in India,” Nanda said.

Akira Kato, Deputy Managing Director, said the 41–50 HP category remains the largest segment in India’s domestic tractor market, while demand is increasingly moving toward 4WD tractors and higher-torque machines.

“The 47 HT PROMAXX and the 50 PROMAXX represent a natural progression for a series that has already established a strong market presence, and the ‘Dark Edition’ extends that same choice of drive and styling into the premium 55 HP category,” Kato said.

Neeraj Mehra, Chief Officer, Tractor Business Division, said changing mechanisation requirements and the entry of younger farmers as key decision-makers are influencing demand for tractors with greater versatility, comfort and modern styling.

He said the PROMAXX 2.0 range combines an HT engine, creeper-speed option and spacious flat platform, while the 6055 Classic ‘Dark Edition’ combines the Farmtrac brand’s first all-black design with higher-power performance.

Both new offerings are being introduced through Farmtrac’s authorised dealer network across India.
