Bayer CropScience India Q1 FY2026-27: Revenue at ₹18.35 Billion, PBT Rises 20%

08 August 2026, Mumbai: Bayer CropScience Limited reported mixed financial results for the first quarter of FY2026-27, with revenue declining while profitability improved on the back of stronger margins, pricing actions and a one-time gain from the divestment of product marketing rights.

For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, the company reported revenue from operations of ₹18.35 billion, a 4% year-on-year decline. However, profit before tax (PBT) increased 20% year-on-year to ₹4.02 billion, reflecting improved operational performance despite challenging market conditions.

Simon Wiebusch, Managing Director and CEO

Commenting on the results, Simon Wiebusch, Vice Chairman, Managing Director and CEO of Bayer CropScience Limited, said the company delivered a resilient start to the financial year despite weather-related challenges and changing market dynamics.

He noted that corn seed sales continued to perform well even as overall acreage declined, supported by the company’s hybrid portfolio and customer engagement initiatives. Wiebusch added that Bayer remains focused on portfolio-led innovation, effective channel management and delivering long-term value to farmers as weather variability, including the possibility of El Niño conditions, and geopolitical developments continue to influence the agricultural sector.

Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer Vinit Jindal said profit after tax (PAT) increased 15% year-on-year, driven by improved gross margins resulting from favourable pricing actions and a stronger product mix.

He added that quarterly earnings also benefited from ₹639 million in income generated through the divestment of marketing rights for formulated products. While other operating expenses increased compared with the corresponding quarter last year, the company continues to prioritize working capital improvements through inventory optimization and stronger collections.
