Bayer Launches New Insecticide Trance for Cotton in India
22 July 2026, New Delhi: Bayer has launched Trance, a new insecticide for the management of sucking pests in cotton, including aphids, jassids and whitefly nymphs. The product will be available from July 2026 across major cotton-growing states, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Punjab, Haryana and West Bengal.
Cotton growers in India continue to face infestations from multiple sucking pests, increasing resistance to existing insecticides and rising production costs. According to the company, Trance combines two active ingredients, spirotetramat and flonicamid, with complementary modes of action to manage sucking pest complexes in a single application.
The insecticide is designed with two-way systemic movement and translaminar activity, allowing protection of both existing foliage and new plant growth. Bayer said the formulation becomes rainfast within two hours of application and is compatible with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programmes.
The company stated that Trance provides rapid feeding cessation, protects crop foliage and reduces the need for repeated insecticide applications, supporting crop health and yield potential.

Trance brings together two complementary modes of action in one innovative solution, offering effective and sustainable pest management while helping farmers improve crop health, productivity and profitability.”
Trance will be available in 100 ml, 220 ml and 500 ml pack sizes. The launch expands Bayer’s crop protection portfolio for cotton production in India.
