PI Industries Launches New Insecticide CARVINT in India
10 September 2026, Mumbai: PI Industries has launched CARVINT (Flometoquin 10% SC), a new insecticide for the control of thrips and diamondback moth (DBM) in crops including chilli, cabbage and cauliflower in India.
The product is being introduced in key markets across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.
Thrips remain a major pest concern in chilli, while diamondback moth is a significant pest of cole crops such as cabbage and cauliflower. Vegetable growers also face challenges associated with resistance to existing insecticide chemistries, repeated applications and shorter periods of pest control.
CARVINT contains flometoquin, classified by the Insecticide Resistance Action Committee (IRAC) under Group 34. The active ingredient provides a different mode of action from several existing insecticide chemistries and can be incorporated into resistance-management programmes through rotation with insecticides from different mode-of-action groups.

The launch expands PI Industries’ crop-protection portfolio in the Indian market and adds a Group 34 insecticide for managing key pests in vegetable crops.
