CNH Launches Pond Restoration Drive to Advance Water Conservation

15 April 2026, Noida: CNH has launched a new corporate social responsibility initiative, Sarovar Sanrakshan, at Sunpura near its tractor and engine manufacturing plant in Greater Noida. The programme aims to restore the historic Bhola Rawal Pond and develop it into a sustainable public space that supports water conservation, biodiversity, and community wellbeing.

The Bhola Rawal Pond Restoration Project will focus on reviving the 6.77-hectare water body through ecological restoration measures designed to improve aquatic ecosystem functions. The initiative also seeks to address local environmental concerns such as foul odour and insect breeding, helping improve public health and safety for nearby communities.

As part of the restoration effort, CNH will introduce green infrastructure including plantation drives, wetland systems, and solar lighting. The company said the project will also encourage long-term community participation through the formation of a village-led water body management committee.

Ravi Kundra, Director Manufacturing (Agriculture), CNH India, said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to sustainable growth and community development in India. He noted that water bodies are important ecological assets that support biodiversity, strengthen climate resilience, and contribute to public health and livelihoods. He added that restoring Bhola Rawal Pond is intended to create a community-led model for integrated water management and long-term preservation.

The initiative is aligned with CNH’s broader sustainability commitments and supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 6.6 on protecting water-related ecosystems and SDG 13 on climate action.

The programme was launched in the presence of members of the CNH Noida plant leadership team, including Sandeep Gupta, Director Sales (Ag); Sanjay Shridhar, Director Supply Chain; Rajender Chaudhry, Director Parts and Service; India CSR lead Kavita Sah; and officials from implementation partner ISAP India Foundation.
