BioPrime and Mosaic Announce Commercial Collaboration on Crop Nutrition Solutions in India

25 May 2026, Pune: BioPrime AgriSolutions and Mosaic have announced a commercial collaboration in India to integrate biological components into crop nutrition solutions. The partnership will focus on combining BioPrime’s biological innovations developed through its SNIPR™ discovery platform with Mosaic’s crop nutrition systems.

The collaboration comes as farmers face rising input costs and supply volatility across agricultural supply chains. Both companies said the initiative aims to support growers with solutions that improve resource use, productivity and long-term agronomic performance.

The companies stated that while improving nutrient use efficiency (NUE) remains important, future crop nutrition systems must address broader aspects of plant performance. Under the collaboration, biological components will be incorporated into fertilizer systems with the objective of improving nutrient uptake, supporting plant metabolism, strengthening stress tolerance and enhancing soil-microbe interactions.

Dr. Renuka Diwan, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder, BioPrime AgriSolutions, said, “Fertilizers have powered global agriculture for over a century. Our partnership with Mosaic is about honouring that legacy while fundamentally advancing what fertilizers can deliver. By embedding biological intelligence into proven nutrition platforms, we are not replacing the fertilizer, we are elevating it. The result is a system that activates the plant, optimizes the input and strengthens the farm.”

According to the companies, the proposed Crop Performance System will focus on four areas: metabolic efficiency, stress resilience, soil-microbe-plant synergy and precision nutrient assimilation. The system is intended to help crops utilize nutrients more effectively, support plant performance under abiotic stresses such as drought, heat and salinity, and improve nutrient availability through interaction with the soil microbiome.

Robin Edwin, Director, Mosaic, said, “At Mosaic, we believe the future of agriculture is not about choosing between crop nutrition and biologicals, but integrating them to deliver better agronomic outcomes for growers. Mosaic Biosciences was created to advance exactly this vision. Our collaboration with BioPrime is another step in building integrated solutions that help growers improve productivity, nutrient efficiency and overall farm performance.”

The companies also noted that global agriculture is facing increasing pressure from geopolitical instability, supply chain disruptions and sustainability expectations. The collaboration aims to develop crop nutrition systems that improve returns on crop nutrition investments while supporting productivity across different crops, geographies and farming systems.
