BASF to Launch New Global Business Services Hub in Hyderabad in Q2 2026
06 May 2026, Hyderabad: BASF announced that its Global Business Services organization will establish a new Global Service Hub in Hyderabad, India, during the second quarter of 2026. The announcement was made during a press briefing in Hyderabad and was marked by the handover of a Letter of Intent (LoI) to Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Hon’ble Minister for Information Technology, Electronics, Communications, Commerce & Industries and Legislative Affairs, Government of Telangana.
The new hub will operate under the name “BASF Global Business Services Private Limited” and is aimed at strengthening BASF’s global service delivery network while reinforcing the company’s long-term commitment to India as a strategic destination for integrated Finance and Human Resources services.
According to BASF, Hyderabad was selected after a structured evaluation process that included on-site assessments of multiple locations. “With the opening of our Global Service Hub in Hyderabad, we are creating a strong foundation for the future of Global Business Services,” said Tobias Dratt, President of Global Business Services at BASF. “Hyderabad offers the right ecosystem and talent base to support scalable, high-quality services for BASF’s businesses worldwide.”
Speaking on the development, Duddilla Sridhar Babu said the announcement reflects growing global confidence in Telangana as a trusted hub for critical enterprise functions. He noted that BASF’s decision to establish its Global Business Services presence in Hyderabad further strengthens the city’s globally recognized leadership in life sciences.
The Minister highlighted that Hyderabad is home to one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical and vaccine ecosystems, alongside a rapidly expanding IT and AI infrastructure. He added that the combination of scientific expertise, digital capabilities, strong research infrastructure, global industry presence, and a highly skilled workforce positions Telangana as a strategic hub for integrated life sciences and technology operations at scale.
He further stated that the establishment of BASF’s Global Services Hub would create a new set of high-skilled employment opportunities in Hyderabad across key business functions, while strengthening the city’s role as a centre for core enterprise operations where multinational companies increasingly manage critical global functions alongside delivery operations.
Phased Expansion and Talent Development
Through the new Global Service Hub, BASF’s Global Business Services organization plans to progressively expand operations in Hyderabad over the coming years. Recruitment activities will be implemented in a phased and sustainable manner, with a strong emphasis on attracting highly skilled professionals and building diverse teams.
The Hyderabad hub will complement BASF’s existing Global Business Services hubs located in Berlin, Kuala Lumpur, and Montevideo.
Supporting BASF’s Global Operations
BASF’s Global Business Services organization delivers integrated business services to BASF operations worldwide. The division supports the company’s business units across several core functions including Finance, Human Resources, Supply Chain, EHSQ (Environment, Health, Safety and Quality), Regulatory Affairs, Intellectual Property, Real Estate Management, and Inhouse Consulting.
The organization focuses on service excellence, digital enablement, and process harmonization to help BASF improve operational efficiency and maintain consistency across global regions. BASF stated that Global Business Services also plays a significant role in supporting the company’s transformation initiatives and long-term competitiveness while fostering an engaging work environment aligned with its global culture and standards.
BASF Expands Strategic Presence in India
Earlier in 2026, BASF had also announced the establishment of a Global Digital Hub in Hyderabad. Commenting on the latest expansion, Alexander Gerding, Managing Director of BASF India Limited and Head of BASF Group Companies in India, said the launch of both global hubs in Hyderabad marks a major milestone in BASF’s long-standing presence in India.
He added that the move builds upon BASF’s existing manufacturing and research and development footprint in the country and directly supports the company’s “Winning Ways” strategy. According to Gerding, having both Global Business Services and Global Digital Services operations in Hyderabad will enable BASF to leverage synergies, strengthen collaboration opportunities, and further enhance the city’s strategic importance within BASF’s global network.
