The World Food Prize Foundation Expands Communications Team, Appoints Ashlee Dean as Manager II
24 September 2026, US: The World Food Prize Foundation has announced the appointment of Ashlee Dean as Manager II, Communications. In this role, she will lead the Foundation’s social media strategy and digital engagement across multiple platforms, helping shape how the organization shares its mission, programs and impact with audiences in Iowa and around the world.
“Ashlee brings a fresh perspective and strong storytelling instincts to our communications team, and she will play an important role in taking the Foundation’s social media presence to the next level,” said Mashal Husain, President, World Food Prize Foundation. “Our digital platforms give us an opportunity to bring the people, ideas and solutions advancing global food security into conversations happening around the world. Ashlee’s creativity and experience connecting with diverse audiences will help us make those connections stronger, more engaging and more impactful.”
Dean will develop and execute social media strategies, oversee digital content and website information and analyze audience engagement to identify opportunities to strengthen the Foundation’s reach and visibility. She helps tell compelling stories about the people, ideas and innovations advancing global food security while maintaining a consistent and engaging Foundation voice and brand. Dean will also oversee the Foundation’s Reserve Corps Volunteer Program, coordinating volunteers who provide important support for the Foundation’s programs, events and activities throughout the year.
Dean has built her professional experience in the nonprofit sector. She served as Communications Coordinator for the Iowa Association for the Education of Young Children, where she managed communications and outreach across multiple channels to engage internal and external audiences and advance the organization’s mission. She also served as Communications Coordinator for Refugee & Immigrant Voices in Action, where she developed and executed content strategies across social media platforms to strengthen engagement and brand awareness, created compelling blog articles, magazine stories and social media content tailored to engage refugee families, donors and lawmakers.
“I am thrilled to begin this new chapter with the World Food Prize Foundation,” Dean said. “I look forward to developing creative and engaging ways to share the Foundation’s mission and connect audiences with the people who are shaping the future of food security. Dean graduated from Grand View University with bachelor’s degrees in communications and media practice and Spanish for business translation, with a minor in sports management.
