Pyraxol™ SC is a selective residual herbicide from Albaugh containing pyroxasulfone, a Group 15 herbicide. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency label lists the formulation as containing 41.78% pyroxasulfone, equivalent to 4.17 pounds of active ingredient per gallon, formulated as a water-based suspension concentrate.

Albaugh announced the U.S. launch of Pyraxol™ SC in August 2026 following registration by the U.S. EPA under EPA Registration No. 83100-91. The product is positioned for pre-emergence control of difficult annual weeds, including resistant biotypes, and is designed to provide long-lasting residual activity at comparatively low use rates within the Group 15 herbicide class.

Pyroxasulfone is used for residual control of a range of annual grasses and broadleaf weeds. Its Group 15 classification makes resistance-management considerations important, particularly where repeated use of herbicides with the same mode of action can increase selection pressure. Appropriate use should follow the approved product label and local resistance-management recommendations.

This category features Pyraxol™ SC news, regulatory approvals, product developments, pyroxasulfone research, Group 15 herbicides, pre-emergence weed control, resistant weeds, field trials, crop protection technologies, and developments in global weed management.
