Crystal Crop Protection and Corteva Sign Collaboration Agreement
06 July 2026, New Delhi: Crystal Crop Protection Limited and Corteva have entered into a collaboration and supply agreement to develop and commercialize new crop protection formulations and mixtures for the Indian market.
Under the agreement, the two companies will work together to develop, manufacture and commercialize crop protection products in India. Corteva will provide access to technical grade active ingredients, while Crystal Crop Protection will develop, formulate, manufacture and market the products in the country.
Ankur Aggarwal, Chairman and Managing Director, Crystal Crop Protection, said, “We are pleased to collaborate with Corteva in developing new formulations and mixtures. This collaboration will help accelerate the availability of effective and farmer-centric solutions that support growers in managing key pest and weed challenges.”
India cultivates around 48 million hectares of rice and more than 13 million hectares of cotton, in addition to significant acreage under horticultural crops such as chilli, tomato, brinjal, okra and pomegranate. These crops are frequently affected by sucking pests, caterpillar pests, mites and diverse weed flora, resulting in yield losses and reduced farm profitability.
The country’s diverse climatic conditions and cropping systems make crop protection an important requirement for farmers. Changing weather patterns and varying pest and weed pressures across regions require solutions that are reliable, safe, cost-effective and suited to local conditions. Science-based innovations and advanced technologies can support farmers in protecting crops, improving productivity and advancing sustainable agricultural practices.
Subroto Geed, President – South Asia, Corteva, said, “This collaboration reflects Corteva’s commitment to advancing science-led innovation that addresses the evolving needs of Indian agriculture. By bringing together complementary strengths in technology, product development and market execution, we aim to deliver effective crop protection solutions that help farmers manage key pest and weed challenges, improve productivity and build more resilient farming systems.”
According to the companies, Crystal Crop Protection has capabilities in intellectual property creation, while Corteva focuses on delivering agricultural technologies and solutions for farmers.
