“Farm Versity Hosts Inspiring Lecture on “Healthy Farming, Healthy Nation”

26 May 2026, Palampur: Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya Palampur organized an inspiring lecture on the theme “Healthy Farming, Healthy Nation-The Road Ahead in India” at the university auditorium today. Renowned motivational speaker and philanthropist Shri Harisharan Devgan delivered the keynote address and shared his thoughts on the importance of healthy living, sustainable agriculture, and value-based life practices. The event was coordinated and organized by Students’ Welfare Officer Dr. Desh Raj Chaudhary. Addressing the gathering, Shri Devgan emphasized that healthy farming practices are the foundation of a healthy society and prosperous nation. He highlighted the need for reducing excessive dependence on chemicals in agriculture and adopting balanced, environment-friendly farming approaches for ensuring long-term soil and human health. He also encouraged students and scientists to work collectively for the welfare of farmers and rural communities.

The programme began with a welcome address by Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ashok Kumar Panda, who welcomed the distinguished guests and appreciated the significance of such lectures in inspiring youth towards sustainable development, social responsibility, and holistic living. Special guests Advocate Shabananda Dalei and Adarsh Singh from the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India also graced the programme and interacted with the university fraternity.During his interaction with students and faculty members, Shri Devgan motivated the youth to lead meaningful lives with dedication, discipline, and noble values. The programme witnessed the participation of scientists, faculty members, officers, students, and staff of the university in large numbers. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks proposed by Students’ Welfare Officer Dr. Desh Raj Chaudhary.
