22 September 2026, New Delhi: Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has ordered the immediate suspension of Anurag, a Marketing Officer in the Ministry of Agriculture, following a complaint alleging that he sought bribes from two warehouses in Madhya Pradesh’s Sehore district.
According to the complaint, the officer allegedly demanded money during an inspection in Sehore district in exchange for releasing subsidy amounts. A demand of ₹1 lakh was allegedly made from Shivay Warehouse in Bhairunda tehsil, while ₹60,000 was allegedly sought from Mr. Krishna Warehouse in Beherakhedi village in the Rehti area.
The complaint was brought to the attention of Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Taking serious note of the allegations, the Minister directed immediate action in the matter. Following the directions, Marketing Officer Anurag was suspended with immediate effect. The action also underlines the Ministry’s position that complaints of irregularities or bribery in government processes concerning farmers and warehouse operators will be taken seriously and acted upon.
