Pioxazon

Description

Pioxazon is an insecticide brand from PI Industries based on pioxaniliprole, an active ingredient developed through the company’s research in India. Pioxaniliprole has been recognised by India’s Central Insecticides Board and Registration Committee (CIB&RC) as the country’s first indigenously discovered insecticide active ingredient. Its development involved more than a decade of research, field trials and regulatory evaluation.

The 20% suspension concentrate (SC) formulation of pioxaniliprole has received approval for use in rice, chilli, tomato and Bengal gram. Its approved target pests include yellow stem borer and leaf folder in rice; fruit borer and tobacco caterpillar in chilli; fruit borer in tomato; and pod borer in Bengal gram. PI Industries scheduled the launch of Pioxazon in India for October 31, 2026, with introductions planned across several markets over the following days.

This section covers the latest Pioxazon news, including its launch, approved crop uses, product developments and regulatory updates. Coverage also examines pioxaniliprole research, insecticide innovation in India and developments in crop protection for rice, vegetables and pulses.
