Swaraj Tractors Launches New Tractor Swaraj 855 Protek in Central India

13 July 2026, Indore: Swaraj Tractors has launched the Swaraj 855 Protek in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, a major agricultural region known for the cultivation of soybean, wheat, pulses, maize, and cotton. The new tractor combines advanced engineering, smart connectivity, and operator-focused features to improve productivity, fuel efficiency, and machine management. It will be available in both 2WD and 4WD configurations.

Speaking at the launch, Gaganjot Singh, CEO, Swaraj Division, Mahindra & Mahindra said that the expansion of irrigation infrastructure across Madhya Pradesh has significantly transformed farming practices, enabling many growers to harvest up to three crops annually. As cropping intensity increases, farmers require tractors capable of handling diverse field operations efficiently while reducing fuel consumption and supporting modern agricultural implements.

“The Swaraj 855 Protek has been developed to address these evolving farming requirements. It combines powerful performance, operator comfort, and digital technologies that enable farmers to manage their equipment more efficiently,” Singh said.

One of the key highlights of the tractor is Swaraj Smart Connect, a telematics platform that enables users to monitor real-time tractor location, fuel efficiency, engine health, fuel level, work history, geo-fence alerts, and service reminders through a mobile application. According to the company, these connected features are designed to improve machine utilization, simplify preventive maintenance, and enhance farm productivity.

Commenting on the company’s growth strategy, Alok Gupta, Vice President – Sales described Madhya Pradesh as one of Swaraj’s key markets in India. He said the company plans to further strengthen its dealer network while expanding access to technology-driven products and after-sales services for farmers.

The Swaraj 855 Protek is equipped with a fully constant-mesh multi-speed transmission, 12 forward and 3 reverse gears, a 2,500 kg Power-Sense hydraulic lift, Dura-Marks cerametallic clutch, Dura-Tuff axle, Versa PTO system, and a Crop-Fit adjustable axle. These features are intended to deliver reliable performance for a wide range of agricultural applications.

The tractor also incorporates several comfort-oriented features, including a flat operator deck, increased legroom, suspended pedals, easy-shift transmission, a 70-litre fibre fuel tank, and a 500-hour service interval, helping reduce maintenance downtime while improving operator convenience during extended field operations.

According to Pradeep Kulkarni, General Manager – Sales, “The Swaraj 855 Protek is priced between ₹9.45 lakh and ₹10.45 lakh (approximately US$11,000–12,200, ex-showroom). He said the model offers farmers a balanced combination of advanced technology, performance, and value.”

The tractor will initially be available through Swaraj’s authorized dealer network in Madhya Pradesh before being rolled out to other Indian states in phases. The company is also offering a six-year warranty, reinforcing its focus on long-term reliability and lower ownership costs.
