Dhanuka Launches Campaign Against Counterfeit Farm Inputs in Central India
15 June 2026, Vidisha: Dhanuka Agritech Limited has launched a farmer awareness campaign aimed at combating the growing challenge of counterfeit agricultural inputs in India. The initiative was formally inaugurated in Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh, where Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan flagged off five awareness audio vans that will travel across key farming districts of the state over the next month.
The campaign seeks to educate farmers about the risks associated with fake crop protection products and other agricultural inputs, while encouraging the adoption of certified and quality-assured products. Counterfeit inputs continue to be a concern in many agricultural markets, often resulting in reduced crop performance, lower yields, and financial losses for farmers.
Launched in line with the objectives of the government’s “Khet Bachao Abhiyan” (Save the Farm Campaign), the initiative is designed to strengthen farmer awareness and promote informed purchasing decisions. Through mobile outreach activities, the campaign will deliver educational messages directly to farming communities, focusing on product authenticity, input quality, and responsible agricultural practices.
The awareness vans will visit agricultural regions across Madhya Pradesh, reaching thousands of farmers with information on how to identify genuine products and avoid counterfeit alternatives. Farmers will be encouraged to verify product authenticity through QR codes, purchase agricultural inputs only from authorized dealers, and obtain proper invoices and receipts for every transaction.
Speaking at the launch, Dr. R.G. Agrawal, Chairman Emeritus of Dhanuka Agritech Limited, highlighted the importance of quality agricultural inputs in improving farm productivity. He noted that while India ranks among the world’s leading agricultural producers, productivity levels can be further improved through greater access to quality technologies and genuine agricultural products.
According to Dr. Agrawal, counterfeit agricultural inputs not only affect crop health and yields but also undermine farmer confidence and profitability. He emphasized that awareness remains one of the most effective tools for protecting farmers from fraudulent products and ensuring better returns on farm investments.
The campaign will also promote the balanced and responsible use of crop protection products and other agricultural inputs. By encouraging best practices and greater transparency within the agricultural supply chain, the initiative aims to contribute to sustainable agricultural growth and improved farm outcomes.
The programme was launched during a farmer-focused event in Vidisha, where the Union Agriculture Minister also laid the foundation stone for a Model Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) and inaugurated several initiatives aimed at supporting agricultural development in the region.
Dhanuka Agritech believes that addressing the issue of counterfeit farm inputs requires coordinated efforts from government agencies, industry stakeholders, distributors, and farmers. Through this awareness campaign, the company aims to strengthen trust in agricultural input markets and help farmers make informed decisions that protect both productivity and income.
