Rovensa Next Secures R$45 Million FINEP Funding to Accelerate Biosolutions Innovation in Brazil
11 September 2026, Madrid: Rovensa Next, a global biosolutions company focused on sustainable agriculture, has secured R$45 million (approximately US$8.8 million) in financing from Brazil’s Funding Authority for Studies and Projects (FINEP) to accelerate research, development and innovation activities in the country.
The financing has been approved under FINEP’s “Mais Inovação” (More Innovation) programme, a subsidised funding initiative aimed at supporting research, technological development and innovation across strategic sectors.
The investment will support the creation and development of new agricultural biosolutions, with a focus on bionutrition, biocontrol and adjuvant technologies. The initiative is expected to expand Rovensa Next’s portfolio while strengthening its ability to develop solutions that address the changing requirements of growers and contribute to more productive, efficient and sustainable farming systems.
According to the company, the FINEP financing reflects the technical quality and strategic importance of its R&D programme in Brazil and will provide additional resources to advance technologies from research through development and commercialisation.
Brazil Strengthens Role in Global Biosolutions R&D
Brazil has become an increasingly important centre for Rovensa Next’s global research and innovation activities. The FINEP investment follows the company’s recent establishment of a pilot fermentation plant at its Monte Mor industrial site, further expanding its capabilities in microbial biosolutions.
The pilot facility works in close connection with Rovensa Next’s Global Research and Innovation Center for Biosolutions in Hortolândia, creating an integrated R&D and production ecosystem. This infrastructure is designed to help accelerate the development of microbial technologies, supporting their progression from laboratory research towards industrial-scale production.
Victor Sonzogno, Head of Brazil at Rovensa Next, said Brazil represents both a priority agricultural market and an important component of the company’s global innovation strategy.
“This FINEP funding will accelerate our R&D projects, further enhancing our ability to develop cutting-edge biosolutions that address local agricultural challenges while successfully scaling these technologies to support growers worldwide.”
Long-Term Investment in Sustainable Agriculture
Rovensa Next markets its biosolutions in more than 90 countries and continues to invest in technologies aimed at addressing some of the major challenges facing modern agriculture.
The FINEP financing has been structured over a 16-year term and covers 90% of the total project cost, providing long-term support for the company’s planned R&D activities in Brazil.
Sonzogno said the financing represents significant recognition of the company’s innovation programme and the potential of the technologies being developed in the country.
Riccardo Vanelli, Chief Innovation and Strategy Officer at Rovensa Next, said the investment would help the company strengthen the link between market needs and product development.
“The funding represents a significant step forward in our mission to connect market opportunities with product innovation. By expanding our research and development capacity in a biologically diverse and agriculturally advanced market like Brazil, we enhance our ability to create effective solutions that meet the specific needs of our distributors and growers on a global scale.”
The new funding is expected to accelerate projects focused on biological solutions that can support crop productivity, soil health and the sustainability of agricultural systems.
