Syngenta ANZ represents Syngenta’s agricultural business across Australia and New Zealand, where the company has supported growers since the 1920s. Its local operations combine global agricultural research with technologies tested and adapted to regional farming conditions, serving broadacre, horticulture, cereal, cotton, pulse, oilseed, and other production systems. Syngenta ANZ’s portfolio includes crop protection products, vegetable seeds, seed treatment, biologicals, and integrated agricultural solutions.

The business is expanding its focus on biologicals and seedcare. In August 2026, Syngenta announced the expansion of its Seedcare Institute at Charles Sturt University’s Agri Park in Wagga Wagga into a broader Seedcare and Biologicals Institute. The facility will evaluate biological technologies for abiotic stress tolerance, nutrient-use efficiency, pest biocontrol, and plant-health inoculants, with Atuva, a nitrogen-fixing inoculant for chickpeas, faba beans and lentils, among the first products being tested.

Syngenta ANZ is also undergoing changes in its crop protection portfolio. In July 2026, the company announced its commercial exit from paraquat-containing products in Australia and New Zealand, citing regulatory, manufacturing, logistical, and commercial challenges. The company said it would manage the phase-out according to APVMA sell-out and use-by requirements while focusing investment on alternative crop protection technologies.
