USA: ADAMA Launches High-Load Pyroxasulfone Herbicide ‘Novali SC’ for Row Crops

27 May 2026, Raleigh: ADAMA has announced the launch of Novali SC, a new patent-pending liquid herbicide based on Pyroxasulfone technology, aimed at improving residual weed management in major row crops such as soybean and corn.

According to the company, Novali SC has been developed to provide growers with a more efficient and practical weed-control solution while reducing handling and storage requirements. The product is formulated using ADAMA’s proprietary SESGAMA™ formulation technology and contains 40 percent more active ingredient per gallon compared to several competing liquid Pyroxasulfone formulations currently available in the market.

The company said the higher concentration is expected to help farmers and retailers reduce transportation, storage space, packaging waste, and refill frequency during the application season, while maintaining long-duration residual weed control performance.

Commenting on the launch, Diane Reynolds, Head of Marketing at ADAMA US, said the company is focusing on delivering practical innovations that improve efficiency without adding complexity or significantly increasing costs for growers.

“Farmers and retailers continue to seek dependable weed-control solutions that fit easily into modern crop production systems,” Reynolds said. “Novali has been designed to offer reliable residual control with operational convenience and improved value.”

ADAMA stated that Novali SC is intended to support herbicide programs dealing with increasing weed resistance challenges in row crops. The herbicide is designed to control weeds before emergence and can also be used as a premix partner in layered residual weed management programs.

The liquid formulation is expected to simplify handling and dosing compared to some dry formulations, while also eliminating dust-related concerns during mixing and application.

The launch forms part of ADAMA’s broader strategy to strengthen its weed-management portfolio in row crops, with additional herbicide formulations expected to be introduced in the near future.

Commercial availability of Novali SC is expected to begin during June and July 2026, with limited product volumes planned for the initial launch season.
