14 March 2026, Frick: The IFOAM Animal Husbandry Alliance (IAHA) conference, organised by FiBL, will take place from 28 to 30 April 2026 at FiBL in Frick, Switzerland. The international conference on the future of global livestock farming explores whether organic animal husbandry can serve as a model for future livestock systems. The preliminary programme is now available online.
Under the title “Organic animal husbandry: a role model for the future of livestock?”, experts from practice, research, advisory services, policy and the organic movement will discuss key questions related to sustainable livestock farming. In four thematic sessions and four plenary sessions, topics such as animal welfare, breeding, One Health, climate change, agroforestry, and the integration of crop and livestock farming will be addressed, as well as the role of organic livestock systems in sustainable food systems.
The programme is complemented by interactive workshops, excursions to organic farms, and an engaging social programme, providing opportunities for exchange and networking.
