Backing Rural Mothers And Building Stronger Communities
26 March 2026, AU: A platinum sponsor, Elders was proud to support the event, standing alongside Motherland in creating space for rural women to come together and share experiences. Throughout the two-day event, connections were quickly formed. The shared understanding of life in rural and regional Australia was clear.
Tash Young, Elders branch manager at Miles and Wandoan, addressed the room, sharing her personal story. She spoke candidly about the realities of living and working in rural Australia and the importance of community support.
The event also included a gala dinner attended by over 550, which raised almost $60,000 for the charity. The evening was both celebratory and moving, highlighting the impact Motherland continues to have for rural mothers across the country.
For many attendees, it was a deeply moving opportunity to experience the Motherland community. Elders retail sales representative Kelsey said she was thrilled to be part of the weekend.
“I feel so privileged that I was able to come here this weekend and fully immerse myself in everything that Motherland has to offer,” she said.
“I am really excited to one day do the program myself, as I feel like I need a village and I don’t have one around me yet. I have got so much out of the event and couldn’t be more proud to be here with Elders.”
Beyond the formal program, it was the conversations between women that stood out. Elders Real Estate branch manager Kylie reflected on the value of learning from other rural mothers and seeing different approaches to parenting.
“We all mother differently and it has been really good to talk to other rural mums to see how they are bringing up their children,” Kylie said.
“It has been good to see how the younger generation have changed the way they are mothering.”
A key highlight of the event was the announcement of Elders’ landmark partnership with Motherland. Elders is proud to be named as Motherland’s first Workplace Partner, offering Elders staff and their partners access to the Motherland Village program. Open to rural mothers with children from 0 to 18 years of age, the Motherland Village covers a wide range of topics. It also facilitates an opportunity for connection with other rural mums. 93 per cent of past attendees stated that the program ‘changed their lives’.
Motherland Founder and CEO Stephanie Trethewey said the scale of the conference and the partnership announcement, signal a turning point in how rural motherhood is recognised.
“When 350 rural mums gather in one room, it sends a powerful message that connection is essential, not optional,” she said.
“To see a national agribusiness like Elders formally embed support for rural families within its workplace framework, shows this issue is being taken seriously at every level.”
By investing in programs that strengthen connection and mental health, Elders is helping ensure rural families feel supported not just professionally, but personally as well.
