India: National Advanced Agriculture Festival in Raisen from April 11–13

05 April 2026, New Delhi: A national-level Advanced Agriculture Festival, combining exhibition, training, and stakeholder engagement, will be held in Raisen, Madhya Pradesh, from April 11 to 13, 2026. The initiative has been led by Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, with the aim of bringing together the full agricultural value chain on a single platform.

The three-day event at Dussehra Ground is designed to demonstrate the continuum of “laboratory to field” and “seed to market,” integrating research, technology, production, processing, and market access. The inaugural session will be attended by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, while the closing session will feature Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, during which a regional agriculture roadmap will be released.

The festival will host around 300 stalls covering sectors such as improved seeds, farm mechanisation, drones, micro-irrigation, fertilisers, crop protection, digital agriculture, livestock, fisheries, food processing, and rural livelihoods. Participation is expected from public institutions including the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, State Agricultural Universities, Krishi Vigyan Kendras, along with private companies, start-ups, financial institutions, and Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs).

A series of seminars and training sessions will run throughout the event, focusing on productivity enhancement in pulses and oilseeds, soil health, natural farming, integrated nutrient and pest management, crop insurance, and AI-based digital agriculture. Demonstrations will include precision farming technologies, hydroponics, vertical farming systems, and the use of drones and advanced machinery such as seeders, balers, and rotavators.

Field-level demonstrations of drip and sprinkler irrigation, fertigation, and smart farming systems will be complemented by hands-on training. Additional facilities include mobile soil testing labs, integrated farming models, livestock and fisheries units, and on-site advisory and grievance support for farmers.

The event will also feature farmer-scientist interactions, FPO meetings, and experience-sharing sessions involving progressive farmers, women self-help groups, and rural entrepreneurs. These engagements are expected to contribute to region-specific solutions that will feed into the agriculture roadmap for Raisen, Vidisha, Sehore, and similar agro-climatic zones.

The roadmap to be unveiled on April 13 will outline strategies for crop diversification, water conservation, expansion of micro-irrigation, integrated farming systems, livestock and fisheries development, and strengthening of processing and market linkages. It will also emphasise the role of digital platforms, affordable credit, and insurance in improving farm incomes and resilience.
