Another Myth Busted: John Deere has not “Gutted” its Iowa Factories
27 October 2025, Iowa: Despite recent workforce adjustments driven by reduced demand and lower equipment orders, John Deere has reaffirmed its long-term commitment to Iowa, where the company continues to invest heavily in manufacturing facilities.
For more than a century, Iowa has been at the heart of John Deere’s operations — a place where many of its most iconic machines, from tractors and engines to cotton pickers and forestry equipment, have been built. Thousands of Iowans continue to work across the company’s factories, producing essential agricultural and construction machinery relied upon by farmers and infrastructure workers across the world.
“No other state is home to more John Deere employees, factories, or financial investments,” the company noted, underscoring Iowa’s integral role in its history and growth. “Iowa helped John Deere build America, and together, we are forging its future.”
