John Deere Unveils 5M Series 5130M (130 HP) Tractor at Power & Technology Show in India
13 March 2026, New Delhi: Deere & Company has unveiled the John Deere 5M Series 5130M tractor in India during its Power & Technology Show. The event presented the company’s technologies related to digital agriculture and connected machinery.
John Deere has been operating in India for more than 27 years, providing farm machinery and technology solutions for agriculture. The company said its products are designed to support farm productivity while addressing soil health, water conservation, and environmental concerns.
Speaking at the event, Rajesh Sinha, Managing Director and Country Manager, John Deere India, and Strategic Advisor to the President, Construction & Forestry Worldwide, said the company’s strategy focuses on integrating precision agriculture and digital technologies with connected machines.
According to Sinha, these technologies are intended to help farmers increase output while managing resource use through improved field operations and input management. He added that India plays an important role in John Deere’s operations through research and development, engineering, global IT, supply chain activities, and manufacturing.
Ramakant Garg, Director – Sales and Marketing, John Deere India, said farm technologies and agronomy practices are linked, and the company aims to align them for future agricultural systems. He said the Power and Technology 7.0 initiative reflects this approach.
Technologies presented at the event included:
- Front Hitch and Front PTO application on the 5130M (130 HP) tractor
- 5E AutoTrac™, a straight-row vehicle guidance system
- GreenSystem™ Link, a factory-fitted connectivity solution
- Radial tyres on the 5405 and 5075E tractor models
Garg said John Deere has introduced technology-based products for the Indian market, and the event presented its current technology portfolio.
The company said its approach includes adapting products to farming conditions in India. Equipment manufactured in India is also exported to more than 110 countries.
Mukul Varshney, Region 1 Government Affairs Director, said the government’s sustainability goals for 2047 create opportunities for technology adoption in agriculture. He added that collaboration with academic institutions and research organizations will be important to support innovation and sustainable farming systems.
