Syngenta Announces Princep Liquid Herbicide Is Coming Soon For Golf, Lawn And Sod Markets
Delivers proven, pre-emergent control of winter and summer annual weeds to turf management programs
27 August 2026, US: Syngenta is pleased to announce Princep® Liquid herbicide will become available in October 2026, offering the same proven formulation turf managers have trusted for pre-emergent control of troublesome weeds, including Poa annua, burclover, lawn burweed, common and mouse-ear chickweed, henbit and more.
“Princep Liquid gives turf professionals a dependable option for managing a variety of broadleaf and grassy weeds in warm-season turf,” said Lane Tredway, Ph.D., technical services manager, Syngenta Professional Solutions. “Its flexibility in tank-mix programs makes it a valuable tool for broadening control and supporting resistance management, especially when targeting Poa annua and other winter annuals.
Princep Liquid can be used on bermudagrass, centipedegrass, St. Augustinegrass and zoysiagrass with excellent safety from fall through spring. Turf professionals can use it to control a broad spectrum of annual weeds while boosting the activity of other herbicides, including Barricade® 4FL herbicide, Monument® 75WG herbicide, Tenacity® herbicide and Reward® landscape and aquatic herbicide.
For Poa annua control, tank mix applications of Barricade 4FL, Monument 75WG and Princep Liquid to provide early post-emergent control and resistance management. For winter weed control, Princep Liquid can also be applied to semi-dormant turf without delaying green-up, and mixtures of Reward and Princep Liquid provide excellent control of Poa annua and other winter annuals on dormant bermudagrass.
“We’re excited to make Princep Liquid available again as a trusted component of turf weed management programs,” said Stephanie Schwenke, market manager, Syngenta Professional Solutions. “Its proven performance delivers consistent, broad-spectrum control of troublesome annual weeds, helping turf professionals protect their investment and achieve long-lasting results.”
