UPL Announces Leadership Transition: Jai Shroff Takes Charge of Global Crop Protection Business
07 August 2026, Mumbai: UPL Limited has announced an expanded global leadership structure following the decision of Mike Frank to step down as Chief Executive Officer of UPL Corporation Limited, effective August 31, 2026, as he relocates to the United States.

As part of the transition, Jai Shroff, Group Chairman and CEO, will directly lead UPL’s Global Crop Protection business, supported by two senior executives who have been assigned broader international responsibilities.
Under the new structure:
- Sameer Tandon has been appointed President, APAC, Africa, and Europe.
- Ashish Dobhal has been appointed President, Americas.
According to the company, the revised leadership model is designed to maintain strategic continuity while accelerating decision-making and strengthening execution across its major markets. UPL said the structure aligns with its strategy of building a simpler, flatter, and more agile organization.

Sameer Tandon brings more than 26 years of leadership experience across the consumer goods and crop protection sectors. His background includes marketing, brand management, and business leadership across India, Asia-Pacific, and Europe, with responsibility for driving business transformation, customer engagement, and profitable growth.

Ashish Dobhal has over 23 years of experience across global agricultural markets in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. During his career, he has held leadership positions spanning sales, research and development, mergers and acquisitions, and business management. He previously served as CEO of UPL Sustainable Agri Solutions (SAS) and most recently led the company’s global sales and supply chain functions.
The company said the leadership changes reinforce its focus on profitable growth, operational excellence, and long-term value creation for customers, partners, and shareholders.
UPL had informed stock exchanges on August 3 that Mike Frank would be stepping down from his role as CEO of UPL Corporation Limited, with the latest announcement outlining the management structure that will take effect following his departure.
