04 August 2026, AU: Leading grains researchers will put the spotlight on nitrogen and crop disease management at the 2026 AgQuip Grower Forum breakfast, delivering practical insights for growers and advisers.
The annual forum is a joint initiative of GRDC, NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (NSW DPIRD) and NSW Farmers.
The complimentary breakfast forum will be held on Wednesday 19 August from 7.30am-9.30am at the NSW Farmers site at AgQuip, Gunnedah.
The popular event provides growers with the opportunity to hear directly from leading researchers and industry experts on topics affecting grain production across northern New South Wales.
This year’s program features:
Dr Tendo Mukasa Mugerwa: Improving supply of biological N.
Dr Steve Simpfendorfer: Seasonal crop disease update.
Presentation of The Brownhill Cup, recognising conservation farming and efficient management by the Brownhill family.
GRDC Grower Relations Manager Jon Baird said the annual forum was an important opportunity for growers and advisers to hear the latest research findings and seasonal insights relevant to northern farming systems.
This year’s presentations will cover two key areas of interest for growers – opportunities to improve nitrogen supply through biological pathways and the latest crop disease outlook for the season, he said.
“The forum is also an opportunity to recognise excellence in our industry through the presentation of The Brownhill Cup and celebrate the achievements of growers who are leading the way in conservation farming and efficient management.”
DPIRD Director of Cropping Systems Dr Guy McMullen said the longstanding partnership between GRDC, NSW DPIRD and NSW Farmers continued to ensure growers had access to independent, science-based information and the chance to connect with researchers, industry specialists and fellow producers.”
