From Mongolia: Advancing Resilient Agriculture at COP17
14 September 2026, Mongolia: Our colleagues joined global partners in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, for UNCCD COP17, contributing to conversations on resilient agriculture, soil health and land restoration.
As part of Food Systems and Soil Health Day, Daniela Vega, VACS Partnership Executive Secretary, and Kevin Pixley, Dryland Crops Program Director, participated in the Vision for Adapted Crops and Soils (VACS) Partners Strategy and Report Back Session on August 27.
The session brought VACS partners together to reflect on progress since COP16, share lessons and discuss priorities for advancing crops and soils that can better respond to climate and environmental challenges.
Through the VACS Partnership, we are working with global partners to strengthen soil health, improve crop productivity and support farmers in building more resilient agricultural systems.
Our participation at COP17 also provided an opportunity to engage with partners, donors and country representatives, strengthen collaboration and contribute our science and experience to the global conversation on the future of agriculture and land restoration.
