RESIL Receives Expanded Certification for Biostimulant Claims Across the EU
18 June 2025, London: BioLiNE Corporation’s flagship biostimulant, RESIL, has achieved a significant regulatory milestone in the European Union. Marketed in Europe by NutriTrain BV, RESIL® has received an expanded certification that substantially strengthens its value proposition for European farmers seeking enhanced crop resilience and productivity.
Recognition Under EU’s Stringent Biostimulant Standards
Initially certified in 2023, RESIL was one of the first products to qualify as a non-microbial biostimulant (PFC 6.B) under the EU’s rigorous new regulations. The original certification was supported by a robust dossier of efficacy data demonstrating its impact on yield improvement and abiotic stress tolerance, especially in crops like canola (Brassica napus L.). The recent update significantly broadens these claims, enhancing RESIL’s standing as a comprehensive solution for modern crop production challenges.
Expanded Agronomic Claims Across Crop Groups
The updated certification confirms RESIL’s ability to improve tolerance to drought and heat stress across a wide range of crops—covering 42 crops in the broadacre category and 83 in the vegetables, ornamental, and AMP (Aromatic, Medicinal, and Plant-based) grouping. The product has also demonstrated improvements in nutrient use efficiency for nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium across all broadacre crops.
Additionally, RESIL has shown a marked enhancement in several crop quality traits, such as increased pod count per plant, improved plant and root weight, better seed production, and overall yield. In vegetable, ornamental, and AMP crops, measurable benefits include higher chlorophyll content, increased marketable fruit yield, and improved fruit and plant growth metrics.
Proven Field Success with Measurable Yield Gains
RESIL®’s efficacy is supported by extensive field trials. For instance, applying 1 litre per hectare twice led to a yield increase of 12.5 metric tons per hectare in onion production. Similar performance improvements have been observed in potatoes and other key crops, reinforcing the product’s agronomic value across diverse farming systems.
Backed by CE Mark for Safety and Performance
The CE certification mark underlines that RESIL meets EU requirements for quality, effectiveness, and environmental safety. As plant biostimulants are designed to improve nutrient uptake, efficiency, and stress tolerance—often via similar mechanisms across crop types—this certification assures farmers of a reliable and compliant solution.
Industry Leaders See Rising Demand for Sustainable Tools
According to Gieljam Dejong of NutriTrain, the expanded certification underscores RESIL®’s versatility and aligns with the growing demand for sustainable biostimulants. “We see strong demand, particularly in the vegetable and AMP sectors, for biostimulants that tangibly improve sustainability and efficiency. This update validates RESIL®’s role as an essential input for European growers navigating increasing climate uncertainty.”
A Trusted Technology with Global Reach
RESIL, also known as BioLiNE Gold in North America, has been commercially available since 2018. It has already demonstrated proven results on over one million hectares annually across Canada and the United States. In 2024, BioLiNE® Gold became one of the first products certified under The Fertilizer Institute’s Certified Biostimulant program in the U.S., further cementing its credibility in the global market.
An Essential, Easy-to-Use Tool for Farmers
RESIL is designed to be simple, effective, and affordable—making it a go-to biostimulant in every grower’s toolbox. It supports plant health by maximizing nutrient inputs, improving yields, and sustaining soil vitality. Importantly, it empowers growers to mitigate risks from environmental stressors like heatwaves and drought. Its high compatibility with most fertilizers and pesticide sprays also ensures ease of integration into existing farm practices, offering both flexibility and performance without complicating application protocols.
