Rovensa Next Launches Otimais Duo Inoculant in Brazil to Boost Nutrient Efficiency and Crop Productivity
10 March 2026, Madrid: Rovensa Next has announced the launch of Otimais Duo, a high-performance dual-microbial inoculant in Brazil designed to maximize nutrient-use efficiency and support consistent crop productivity. The new biosolution combines two powerful microbial strains to enhance nutrient availability, strengthen root development, and improve crop performance in the field.
The product has been validated through 94 field trials conducted across seven countries, demonstrating strong productivity gains in key crops including maize and soybean.
Dual-microbial technology designed for modern crop nutrition
According to Victor Sonzogno, the growing demand for efficient input use is accelerating the adoption of biological crop solutions.
“As growers seek greater efficiency from every input, biological solutions are becoming central to modern crop nutrition. Otimais Duo has been developed as a science-based tool to enhance the performance of conventional fertilization programs,” Sonzogno said.
Otimais Duo combines two complementary microbial strains — Azospirillum brasilense strain Ab-V5 and Pseudomonas fluorescens strain BR14810. While Azospirillum brasilense fixes atmospheric nitrogen biologically, Pseudomonas fluorescens helps solubilize phosphorus and promotes plant growth through phytohormone production.
Working together, these microbes stimulate key plant enzymatic pathways such as acid phosphatase and nitrate reductase. This process improves nutrient availability and uptake, leading to stronger root systems, enhanced vegetative growth, and improved resilience under field conditions.
The company said the inoculant integrates easily into conventional fertilization programs and can help growers improve fertilizer efficiency while supporting long-term soil health.
Strong field performance across crops and regions
Field research supporting the product’s launch showed consistent productivity gains across 10 crops in seven countries.
In maize, 58 field trials recorded an average yield increase of 1,302 kg per hectare, with gains reaching 3,210 kg per hectare in some locations. Seed treatments delivered an average yield increase of 1,344 kg per hectare, while foliar applications achieved gains of 1,596 kg per hectare.
Soybean trials also demonstrated strong results. Across 39 trials, the inoculant delivered an average productivity increase of 600 kg per hectare regardless of the application method used.
The best results were observed when Otimais Duo was used alongside mineral fertilizers as part of an integrated biosolution strategy. According to the company, the product functions primarily as an efficiency enhancer, improving nutrient dynamics and plant assimilation rather than replacing fertilizer inputs.
Supporting sustainable and resilient agriculture
Rovensa Next said Otimais Duo aligns with its “Biosolutionize Agriculture” initiative, which aims to make farming more efficient, profitable, and sustainable through science-based biological solutions.
By improving nitrogen and phosphorus assimilation, the product helps increase the return on fertilizer investments while reducing nutrient losses. The enhanced microbial activity also supports soil health and lowers environmental impact.
In addition, improved root architecture and balanced plant nutrition help crops better withstand climatic and soil stress, strengthening farm resilience in increasingly variable growing conditions.
