New Fungicide Amfenamacril Receives Official ISO Common Name Approval
16 June 2026, China : A new fungicide active ingredient developed in China has officially received the ISO common name amfenamacril, following the completion of the international review process.
The approval was confirmed by the ISO 1750 Maintenance Agency, which reported that no objections were received after the name was provisionally approved on 5 December 2025. As a result, amfenamacril has now become an officially approved ISO common name and will be included in a forthcoming edition of ISO 1750, the international standard for pesticide common names.
Amfenamacril is an aminocyanoacrylate fungicide discovered by Jiangsu Pesticide Research Institute Co., Ltd.. The active ingredient is chemically identified as ethyl (2Z)-3-amino-2-cyano-3-[4-(ethylmethylamino)phenyl]-2-propenoate (CAS No. 3095661-21-2).
The Chinese common name for the molecule is 氰烯菌胺, while the approved French common name is amfénamacril.
