ISO Provisionally Approves ‘Triseboctylamine’ as Common Name for New Fungicide

03 August 2026, US: The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has provisionally approved “triseboctylamine”as the common name for a new fungicide developed by Shandong Shenbon Greenland Chemical Co., Ltd.

The fungicide, previously identified by its chemical designation N1-(2-aminoethyl)-N2-octyl-1,2-ethanediamine N-octyl derivative (CAS No. 3113404-20-6), is also known by the Chinese common name 辛菌胺.

Stakeholders have until January 29, 2027, to submit objections to the proposed common name. Objections may be raised if, for example, the name “triseboctylamine” is considered to conflict with an existing trademark or other protected intellectual property.

If no objections are received by the deadline, triseboctylamine will become the officially approved ISO common name and will be included in a future edition of ISO 1750, which lists internationally recognized common names and preferred names for pesticides.

The provisional French common name is « triséboctylamine ».
