Erysichrona Approved as ISO Common Name for New RNAi Fungicide
15 April 2026, US: A new ISO common name, erysichrona, has been officially approved for an RNAi fungicide developed by GreenLight Biosciences.
The approved substance is identified as RNA (Erysiphe necator-specific double-stranded interfering ES43) with CAS number 3002952-14-6.
The name had received provisional approval on October 13, 2025. As no objections were submitted during the review period, erysichrona has now gained full approval and will be included in a future edition of ISO 1750, which will feature both preferred names and common names.
