NC State to Host National Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture
05 March 2026, Raleigh: North Carolina: North Carolina State University will host the 2026 AI in Agriculture Conference from March 31 to April 2, bringing together researchers, industry representatives, technology developers and public sector stakeholders to examine the growing role of artificial intelligence in agricultural systems.
The conference aims to connect experts working across academia, ag-technology, data analytics, biotechnology, extension services and government institutions to discuss emerging applications of artificial intelligence and data science in farming and food systems.
The 2026 edition will focus on “Advancing Artificial Intelligence and Data-Driven Innovations for Resilient and Competitive Agricultural Systems.” The theme highlights the use of integrated AI tools and data-driven approaches to support productivity, farm profitability and environmental management across crop production, livestock systems and agricultural supply chains.
Organisers expect participation from representatives of more than 60 universities across the United States along with 18 organisations from industry, government and other agricultural stakeholder groups, reflecting growing interest in AI-driven technologies within the sector.
Daniela Jones, Director of Agricultural Analytics at the NC State Data Science and AI Academy and co-lead of the conference, said the event reflects increasing national engagement around the use of artificial intelligence in agriculture.
“Bringing national expertise to this conference gives North Carolina farmers, Extension agents, researchers and ag technology companies direct exposure to new ideas and possibilities around AI,” Jones said.
Keynote speakers for the event include Zach Marston, Cropwise AI Manager at Syngenta; Gyami Shrestha, Founder and Principal Consultant at Carboneers LLC; Sebastian Villegas, CEO of Asimetrix; and Lane Arthur, Vice President of Precision Technologies at John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group.
Early-bird registration for the conference is open until February 20, 2026. The event will bring together researchers, technology developers and agricultural stakeholders to discuss current developments and future applications of artificial intelligence in agriculture.
