CaneShakti™ is a Harpin αβ protein-based biostimulant from Novonesis developed specifically for sugarcane. The product activates plant receptors and triggers systemic physiological responses associated with rooting, tillering, photosynthetic activity, nutrient uptake, natural defense, and tolerance to abiotic stresses such as drought and high temperatures. Novonesis lists an average yield increase of 15% or more and an increase in sugar recovery of 0.2–0.3, based on its registration trial data from four locations.

CaneShakti™ contains Harpin αβ protein, comprising four protein fragments derived from three naturally occurring bacteria. It can be applied through cane sett dipping, in-furrow/sett drip, and foliar application, and is suitable for new plantings, ratoon crops, Suru, pre-season, and Adsali sugarcane systems. Novonesis launched the product in India in 2026 following several years of field validation, positioning it as a biological solution for improving sugarcane productivity and sugar recovery.
