Syngenta’s Atexzo Insecticide Registered for New York Golf Courses

22 October 2026, New York: Syngenta’s Atexzo® insecticide/miticide, which contains the active ingredient isocycloseram, has been registered for use on golf courses across New York, including Long Island. The registration gives golf course superintendents a new mode of action to manage annual bluegrass weevils and other turf insect pests.

Atexzo contains isocycloseram, an active ingredient in Insecticide Resistance Action Committee (IRAC) Group 30. The product uses Syngenta’s PLINAZOLIN® technology and is labelled for use on golf courses, sod farms and athletic turf.

Atexzo works through contact and ingestion to control adults and larval or nymphal stages of key turf insects, including annual bluegrass weevils (ABW), billbugs, European crane flies, turf caterpillars and mole crickets.

The registration is relevant to golf course managers in the northeastern United States, where annual bluegrass weevils remain a persistent pest. The availability of an additional mode of action can help superintendents diversify insecticide programmes and support resistance management strategies.

“With Atexzo, superintendents now have access to a completely new mode of action that helps strengthen resistance management programs while delivering exceptional performance,” said Lisa Beirn, Ph.D., technical services manager for turf in the Northeast at Syngenta.

She added that the product’s ability to control both adult and larval stages gives superintendents greater flexibility in developing season-long annual bluegrass weevil management programmes.

The company is offering Atexzo through its GreenTrust® 365 Early Order Period, which runs from October 1 to December 8, 2026. Purchasing options include an Atexzo + Ference® insecticide Multipak and three pallet solutions: ABW Plus Solution, ABW Xtra Solution and Wall2Wall Insect Solution.

Atexzo is also included in Syngenta’s WeevilTrak℠ Plus programme, which supports annual bluegrass weevil management and provides turf professionals with an additional option for controlling adult and larval populations.
