In his meeting with Minister Carvajalino, Vice Minister Zhang said that the two sides should fully leverage the China–Colombia Joint Committee on Agricultural Cooperation and actively implement the Plan on Enhancing Agricultural Cooperation (2024–2028). He said China will work with Colombia to deepen cooperation in areas such as agricultural machinery, investment and trade, and agricultural science and technology, thereby continuously raising the level of bilateral agricultural cooperation and taking both countries’ agricultural development to new heights. Minister Carvajalino spoke highly of China’s achievements in agricultural and rural development. She said that Colombia would continue to improve the quality of agricultural exports to China and hopes to actively cooperate with China in various agricultural fields so as to enhance grain self-sufficiency.

In his meeting with Minister Dogo, Vice Minister Zhang noted that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, the China–Côte d’Ivoire strategic partnership has maintained good momentum, with fruitful cooperation across a wide range of fields including agriculture. He said China will continue to work with Côte d’Ivoire to carry out personnel exchanges and cooperation in science, technology, and trade, with a focus on key sectors such as rice, natural rubber, and cocoa, in order to help Côte d’Ivoire upgrade its industrial chain and advance poverty reduction efforts. Minister Dogo expressed her appreciation for China’s long-term support for Côte d’Ivoire’s poverty reduction and agricultural development. She said Côte d’Ivoire looks forward to further strengthening policy dialogue with China and drawing on China’s experience in agricultural production, rural development, and poverty alleviation under the Global Partnership for Poverty Alleviation and Development (GPPAD).

In his meeting with Minister Green, Vice Minister Zhang noted that China and Jamaica enjoy a sound foundation for agricultural and fishery cooperation and should push for an early launch of the China–Jamaica Joint Committee on Agriculture. He said China will work with Jamaica to share experience in aquaculture and agricultural technology, enhance mutual learning in development models, and promote technology exchanges and practical cooperation, so as to support Jamaica in improving sustainable agricultural development. Minister Green agreed with Vice Minister Zhang’s proposals on cooperation and said Jamaica looks forward to holding a joint committee meeting with China to further strengthen bilateral communication and cooperation in areas such as agricultural machinery, aquaculture, and human resource development, thereby improving Jamaica’s agricultural development.
