World Food Safety Day / Türkiye Marks The Day Under The Theme “From Burden To Solutions – Safe Food Everywhere”
17 June 2026, US: To mark World Food Safety Day 2026, the General Directorate of Food and Control of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Türkiye organized a hybrid event bringing together food safety professionals from across the country.
The event connected staff from all 81 Provincial Directorates of Agriculture and Forestry, 41 Food Control Laboratories and the central organization of the General Directorate. Colleagues working in different parts of the food control system came together to exchange experiences, strengthen coordination and reaffirm their shared commitment to food safety.
In line with this year’s theme, “From burden to solutions – safe food everywhere”, the event highlighted that safe food can only be achieved through cooperation, coordination and a shared sense of responsibility among all actors involved in the food control system.
The event also provided an opportunity to recognize the dedication of food safety professionals working across Türkiye and to reaffirm the country’s commitment to science-based policies, effective official controls and strong laboratory capacity in ensuring safe food for everyone.
