Smart Irrigation Tech Summit 2026 to be Held in Haryana on March 31–April 1

14 March 2026, New Delhi: Aiming to promote water-efficient and technology-driven farming practices, the “Smart Irrigation Tech Summit 2026”will be held on March 31–April 1, 2026, at Tosham. The event is being organised to address critical challenges such as declining groundwater levels, climate variability, and rising input costs that increasingly threaten agricultural sustainability in the state.

The summit is being organised by the Micro Irrigation & Command Area Development Authority (MICADA), Government of Haryana, in association with the Irrigation Association of India and the Irrigation Association of Haryana. The initiative seeks to accelerate the adoption of micro-irrigation, automation, and precision agriculture technologies across the state.

Envisioned as a flagship state-level platform, the summit will bring together farmers, policymakers, industry leaders, agri-tech innovators, and research institutions. The goal is to foster dialogue, collaboration, and the rapid implementation of smart irrigation technologies in water-stressed regions.

The key objectives of the summit include bridging implementation gaps by enhancing awareness and coordination for deploying advanced irrigation technologies, showcasing innovations such as IoT-enabled irrigation systems, artificial intelligence applications, fertigation, and automated irrigation solutions, and strengthening partnerships between the public and private sectors. The initiative also aims to align state-level efforts with the national irrigation mission under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) and broader climate-resilient agriculture goals.

The two-day event will feature a high-level conference focusing on policy and technological innovation in irrigation. A technology exhibition will showcase advanced irrigation solutions from industry players and agri-tech companies. Farmers attending the summit will also have the opportunity to participate in interactive demonstrations and live technical sessions designed to highlight practical applications of smart irrigation technologies.

In addition, an Excellence Awards ceremony will recognise progressive farmers and officials who have made notable contributions to sustainable irrigation and agricultural practices.

Through this initiative, the Government of Haryana aims to develop scalable models for sustainable irrigation and position the state as a national leader in smart and technology-enabled agriculture.
