HRAC Group 2 comprises herbicides that inhibit the acetolactate synthase (ALS) enzyme, also known as acetohydroxyacid synthase (AHAS), disrupting the synthesis of essential branched-chain amino acids required for plant growth. Group 2 herbicides provide pre-emergence and post-emergence control of a broad spectrum of grasses, sedges, and broadleaf weeds in crops such as soybean, corn (maize), wheat, rice, barley, pulses, canola, sugarcane, and other row crops.
