04 August 2026, Indianapolis: Corteva has announced the launch of Enclosa herbicide, a new soybean weed management solution designed to provide flexible control of broadleaf weeds and grasses across diverse production systems. The herbicide has received approval from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and is currently undergoing state-level registration processes ahead of commercial availability.
Enclosa combines Corteva’s proprietary encapsulated acetochlor (Group 15) with cloransulam (Group 2) in a single premix formulation. According to the company, the combination delivers residual weed control for up to four weeks while offering both residual and systemic activity against more than 36 broadleaf weed and grass species in pre- and post-emergence soybean applications.
Drake Robards, Portfolio Marketing Lead for Soybean Herbicides at Corteva, said the launch reflects the company’s continued investment in soybean herbicide innovation. He noted that Enclosa expands the company’s portfolio by providing growers with another flexible weed management option aimed at supporting yield potential and simplifying management decisions.
The new product builds on Corteva’s introduction of Enversa herbicide in 2025, which featured proprietary encapsulated acetochlor technology designed to move rapidly from plant surfaces into the soil, forming a residual weed control barrier. Enclosa incorporates the same encapsulated acetochlor technology while adding cloransulam to broaden weed control and strengthen resistance management strategies.
According to Corteva, combining multiple herbicide modes of action is becoming increasingly important as growers face rising herbicide resistance challenges. The company says the addition of cloransulam enhances control of difficult weed species while helping reduce the selection pressure for resistant populations.
Enclosa is designed to fit a wide range of soybean herbicide programs across different geographies. The herbicide is intended for use over a broad application window and is compatible with several commonly used tank-mix partners, including products containing metribuzin or sulfentrazone in pre-emergence programs, as well as glyphosate or glufosinate in post-emergence applications.
For growers using Enlist E3® soybeans, Corteva says Enclosa also complements Enlist One® herbicide, providing additional flexibility within Enlist production systems. The product will be available as a liquid premix formulation intended to simplify handling and mixing operations.
Initial commercial sales of Enclosa™ herbicide are expected to begin later this year, with the product targeted for use during the 2027 soybean growing season.
