ISO Approves “Nafoxametamide” as New Insecticide Common Name
07 May 2026, US: The ISO 1750 Maintenance Agency has approved “nafoxametamide” as the new ISO common name for an isoxazoline insecticide developed by Shandong Chengchuang Lanhai Pharmaceutical Technology Co. Ltd. The approval was granted on 4 May 2026.
The insecticide, known in Chinese as 萘异噁唑酰胺, carries the chemical designation:
4-[5-[3-chloro-5-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-4,5-dihydro-5-(trifluoromethyl)-3-isoxazolyl]-N-[(methoxyamino)methylene]-1-naphthalenecarboxamide (CAS No. 2922827-79-8).
According to the ISO 1750 Maintenance Agency, no objections were received during the consultation period for the proposed name “nafoxametamide”. As a result, the name has now received official approval and will be incorporated into a forthcoming edition of ISO 1750, which will include both preferred names and common names for agrochemical active ingredients.
The approved French common name for the molecule is “nafoxamétamide” (nm).
